San Francisco El Grande

In the year 1630, a large group of residents of the neighborhood of San Francisco entrusted the master antigueño Don Carlos de Bolaños, the burilación of a life-size image that represented Jesus Nazareno, being placed the image in one of the altarpieces of the temple where remained until the earthquakes of Santa Marta 1773.

It is said that the name given was a way to express repentance because he was left in abandonment until 1932, when he was taken from the chapel of Viacrucis, where he had remained. Previously it was called “De las Angustias”.
